We grew up at the lake. You know how it is: summers on the boat, learning to water ski, sleep-away camp, cliff jumping, your grandparents' cabin. The smell of the shady coves and bays. Summer evenings. Fall when the tourists leave. Basically spending as much time as you could on the water. There's something about the lake that's like nowhere else. It changes us. We slow down, we are reflective. We feel alive, joyful, rejuvenated, free. Why this happens, who knows. But it does. Lakes are natural mood elevators. There's a certain stillness that's rarely found anywhere else. There's the calm, and there's the joy. We boat, canoe, water ski, swim, and generally let go. And then when we leave the lake we take a little bit of it with us back to the world.
We know there is a whole community of people out there who feel this way too. Lakebound is a celebration of this lake culture. An invitation to slow down, to feel joy and to connect.
For those days that you can't make it to the lake, don't worry; we're bringing the lake to you.
